Oxyfuel Plasma

Flame oxyfuel or flame cutting is by far the oldest cutting process that can be used in mild steel. It is generally considered a simple process and the equipment and consumables are relatively inexpensive. An oxyfuel torch can cut very thick plate, limited mainly by the amount of oxygen that can be supplied. It is not unheard of to cut steel 36 or even 48 inches using an oxyfuel torch. However, when it comes to cutting molds from sheet steel, most of the work is done on sheets 12 inches thick or thinner.
